Sponsored by the Southwest Virginia Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, the 6th Annual Bow Tie Classic honors the memory of Virginia Tech grad and Abingdon, Va. native Clay Copeland and raises scholarship money for freshmen Hokies from the region served by the chapter.
$10,000 in scholarships to 10 VT freshmen have been awarded so far since the first tournament in 2013.
This is the year we hope to reach the endowment goal for the Clay Copeland Scholarship. Come, participate in this awesome weekend and help us do that!
The Bow Tie Classic weekend - April 20-21, 2018 - is held at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon, VA.
The weekend kicks off with the Bow Tie Benefit.
7-10 p.m. Friday, April 20 at Glenrochie Country Club. Not a fancy event, wear what you want and wear a bow tie!
Unique bidding - put your ticket in the jar in front of the items you want to bid on - for a variety of items that range from a signature Hokie Bow Tie Quilt, and this year a Hokie Scrabble Blanket vacations, artwork, dining certificates, VT game tickets and more.
Saturday, April 21 is the Bow Tie Classic golf tournament at the Glenrochie Country Club. Tee time is 10 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m.
